Expression of Truth & Beauty

This project examines the relationship of form and function in architectural design. It encourages the awareness of truth, whatever position the designer takes, and promotes the arbitrary aesthetic of “functional” beauty. This project also examines the method and process of idea generation through conceptual combinations.

3X3 Analysis Table:

The Cantilever and Truss Bridge was chosen for my bridge. The right section is lifted and is being supported by new structures and cables that connect back to the beam. It's lifted to create room for the 30'x40' opening as seen above with the bridge and its check mark. Since it was chosen with the movement mechanism of the ice cream scooper, the scooper will act as a swing mechanism for the part of the roadbed that will "swing out" and then connect back to the rest of the roadbed.
